What does “END OF DAY” mean to you?
“End of business day” does not mean anything anymore.
My clients have told me that some of their staff thought "end of day" meant midnight. 😳
When employees are working remotely - all hours of the day and night - off hours - and across timezones, it’s best practice to be VERY CLEAR about WHEN you need a project or task complete.
“Get this to me by end of day Thursday” need to be CHANGED to —> “I need this form returned to my email by 5pm PST on Thursday January 25”
It’s okay to change your language. Better to use clear language than be frustrated when the recipient doesn’t understand your exact meaning.
